Question
change profile to work with another user and AD
Here is the problem. I have a user that has about 80gb of stuff in his profile and many setting that would be hard to setup again in a new profile.
We changed servers and AD. I guess I could use profile mover to back it up then put the computer in the new AD. This takes forever since the hd is only 120gb and I have to move it off the drive than delete and put back under new AD.
Is there a way I can change the profile to work with his new AD user in the new AD?

Reboot the computer
Log on as administrator
Go to Documents and Settings
Delete the AD user's folder
Rename the old user's folder to the new one associated with the AD
If not already, Elevate user to administrator
Log off
Log in as AD user
Take ownership of \documents and settings\username
Open regedit
Add permissions for full access to HKEY CURRENT USER
If necessary, drop user back to standard user
Log off
That should do the trick
