Question
OU Restructure in AD
Hi, I have been asked to do an OU restructure in AD.
Some OU's have been created based on the GPO that is applied and some are based on the Business Unit. I am required to restructure the OU's based on the Business Units in order to do reporting. I plan to align the OU's according to the SAP BU's
I currently have over 30 OU's and about 45 GPO's. What would be the best way to go about the restructure while maintaining the GPO's that the users have applied?

Rename them and move them at will. The GPOs will stay linked, only the names won't be the same - no big deal really. The GPOs sound like they are named to reflect their function, which is perfect.
Make your changes and see what it looks like.
The only issue I see is if you move people or computers around - you'll have to make sure you keep whatever policies you need to apply to them in the right place. Make sure you don't end up nesting an OU under another OU that has a policy that will apply to the sub-OU that will cause issues.
It's all about documenting how it's configured now, then how you want it and comparing them side-by-side to see what will potentially be an issue.
