The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Active Directory and IE

I have a really strange and quirky problem.  One of my clients have 3 Windows 2003 DC's, Exchange 2003 server, File server (with Redirected profiles), and 3 Terminal servers (windows 2003 server standard).  The company uses a program for their inventory and sales which is used by all users and used via a IE7.  It's an ERP type program with a database and a web front end.  this program relies on an IE cookie or cache that is stored in the user's profile.  The problem is, some users can use this and some can't.  New users... no problem.  older (been with the company longer) users, when they open the link to the erp program through IE, the receive an error saying that ie can't read the cache.  I can copy an  older user's profile and create Usertest10.  Won't work.  I can create usertest11 in the same OU and Same GP and it works.  We, back in the day, migrated this company from NT to Win 2000 and to win 2003.  I feel like this may be an ad issue with some old win nt or win 2000 attributes lingering on the older users that is preventing them from using this app.  I've checked the redirected profiles on the file server and they all have the same permissions.  they are all in the same OU and use the same GP.  To get even weirder, some profiles will work on one of the TS servers but not on the other 2.  I'm Baffled.
