How can I output the display names and E-mail address of all the members of a group in Active Directory?

Greetings -

I'd like to output the display names and the E-mail addresses of all the members of a particular group in my directory and save this information to a text file.

So if I had a group named "X" and it had a member named "Joe Smith" with an E-mail of "joe.smith@contoso.com", I'd like the output when targeting group "X" to be:

Joe Smith joe.smith@contoso.com

I've tried this through dsquery piping output to dsget, however, I seem to get only partial results.  The command I used is as follows:

dsquery group -name "X" | dsget group -members | dsget user -email -display

This one is a little cleaner with DSQUERY if you're looking for a simple output:

Example:

dsquery * "dc=domain,dc=com" -filter "&((memberof=CN=Example Group DN,DC=domain,DC=com)(objectcategory=person))" -attr displayname mail

Your command works great once I add a -limit parameter to exceed the paged query limitations.

I'd settle for that if there's no way to do it with ADFIND but... is there?  :)  I prefer adfind because I can delimit the output however I please.

This group probably has other groups as member; try to add "-c" (continue if errors happen) to "dsget user" and "-expand" to the "dsget group".
dsquery group -name "X" | dsget group -members -expand | dsget user -c -email -display

Adfind does indeed work just also returns DN:

Syntax:

Adfind -b "dc=domain,dc=com" -f "&(memberof=CN=Example Group DN,DC=domain,DC=com)(objectcategory=person)" displayname mail
