There's a way to tell that even before applying the fix. Simply check the Security Bulletin for the patch (if in doubt, go to http://support.microsoft.c
Then go to the section "Update Information", expand "Security Update Deployment", expand your Office version, and expand "File Information".

You should be able to use a tool such as File Audit 1.0 (http://www.softpedia.com/ get/System /System-Mi scellaneou s/ File-Aud it.shtml) to watch for new or updated files.
