I have a Power Mac G5 with 2 GB Ethernet ports. One is connected to our Gigabit LAN and the other is directly connected to the NAS (Thecus N5200 Pro - the version with 2 GB Ethernet ports for Link Aggregation).
I want to increase the data throughput between the Mac and the NAS. From what I understand, this is what Load Balacing is for. I have Load Balancing turned on in the NAS, but I have not clue if there is anything I have to set in the Mac (OS X 10.4.11) for it to work. The first network port on the Mac is connected to the LAN, and the NAS is on the LAN as well. I connected the Mac to the second Ethernet port on the NAS, but all that happened was that the connection became extremely slow and the Mac became unresponsive (swirling beach ball for minutes when trying to copy a 90MB file that would take a few seconds through the LAN).
So is there anything to do on the Mac for Load Balancing to work? The manual that cam with the NAS doesn't mention anything.
Thanks,
Robert
