How to make Ubuntu / Samba server authenticate against AD?

Asked by CousinDupree in Samba File Server, Linux Setup, Ubuntu

I've recently built a Ubuntu linux server, version 7.04, and have installed Samba 3.024.  I would like to have Samba authenticate users from our Active Directory domain (Windows 2000 Server).  I don't want to make any changes to the AD server if I can help it, so I assume I need to use Winbind.  How can I accomplish my goal?  The Ubuntu server also has Webmin 1.360 installed if that is of any use.Start Free Trial
