hide hidden files in Samba

Asked by yoshcomputers in Samba File Server, Linux Administration, Linux Setup

Tags: Linux, Debian, etch

I recently transfered over files from an windows HD to a native linux folder and setup Samba access.  All is OK but any of the files that were hidden (mostly the files starting with the tilde '~') are now visible and display even if the window user has 'hide hidden files' selected in their folder setup.

Is there a way to tell samba to set the files that begin with ~ as hidden so that if the user has 'hide hidden files' checked off they don't see it, but those that choose to view hidden files can see it?
