I am trying to image a Dell Optiplex GX620 computer using Microsoft SMS's Operating System Deployment feature pack. I have followed the correct procedures including setting the HAL to ACPI, adding drivers into sysprep, and setting all the hardware specific drivers to Standard in Device Manager. I pull the image using the capture CD (on a GX620) and everything works fine. After the reboot from the capture, Windows goes into sysprep mode and then boots into Windows.
When I try to image another GX620 with the same exact hardware, Window PE copies the operating system fine but once the computer reboots and should boot into the sysprep minisetup, all I get is a blinking cursor in the top left hand screen of the computer. When testing the image on other hardware, it works fine, GX260s, GX280s, Dell Laptops, even HPs! But whenever I try to image a GX620 I get the same thing.
I have tried pulling the image from different GX620s, tried imaging different GX620s so it is not a hardware issue. I even tried building the source image on a different type of PC, everytime I get the same thing.
Any Ideas?
