asked on

can you stop isinteg -fix while it is running

I am running [isinteg -s (server name) -fix -test alltests] on one of my stores on an exchange server 2003 sp2, it is taking longer than I though and may run past my maintenance window.  Can this be stopped without harming the database?

You can stop it, and you can mount the stores. But it is not good Practise.
Let it to complete as it will fix all the logical errors in it.

Stop with CTRL+C, and it will stop the process. and check whether the stores are mounting or not.

Well I would personally not recommend it, since i fixes logical errors in the database. but as far as my experience the database would still be in mountable state. I runs at a speed of 10-12 Gb per hour.

Where does the issue stand now? Do you need further assistance
I hope you could mount the databases after stopping it, if you have stopped it

I ended up stopping because I had run out of time in my maintenance window, I waited until it was completed with test 11 and starting the next test.  I was able to mount the database with no problems and everything has been running fine.  Thanks for the help.
Thats good to hear!!!!
But if you want to fix the errors then you can go for Dial Tone recovery.
You can take the database to different machine, and run the isinteg command on that machine.
Please let me know if you want to do so.. so that we can let you know the process.
