The server Service terminated with the following error 87: the parameter is incorrect

I have a server that crashed and i have done a repair install of windows 2003 server over the top and ths has fixed the original orror "lsass.exe error object not found" but i now cant get the server service to start i get the error "The server Service terminated with the following error 87: the parameter is incorrect"

I need urgent help with this as i dnot want to reformat it and set it up from scratch.
