Which antivirus and anti-spam protection is currently the best out there for protecting Windows Server 2012 and Exchange 2013? A client of ours is using TrendMicro's Advanced Security protection. However, it is no longer protecting as well as it once used to. Can someone recommend a top performing anti-virus and anti-spam software solution for the server and exchange 2013 server based on current productivity/experience? Thank you in advance.

I think you're jumping the gun here. We are not looking to jump on the first recommended product someone recommends. Would you? A recommendation is just that. We'll form our own end result based on what other(s) have or are using successfully but only upon our own further research.
We know what the number one anti-virus is -THE END USER! Yet, those end-users are made up of human beings thus, my question.

These questions are asked weekly - a search of the site would reveal that. And people frequently asking these questions actually expect an answer that is "best" - so my apologies if you thought I was jumping down your throat - perhaps you're the exception and not the rule in this particular case.
Further, what I said still holds true - no one product is going to be your answer - you need a LAYERED approach these days.

LEE, we have a layered infrastructure in place for the Cust. Like the original question posted, we were ONLY seeking better EXCHANGE "Server" protection hence, recommendations/suggestion

EVERYONE has an opinion. Reviews are NOT unbiased so I don't care what "avcomparisons" or any other supposed web site says.
Further, protection shouldn't be just one product. Use one on the server, sure, but have a firewall that also scans for viruses incoming. Then have an AV on the workstation.
I don't use an Exchange product, but for servers and workstations I use VIPRE and the firewall is an Untangle based router with virus scanning.
Then educate your users not to open certain emails. EDUCATION IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF A GOOD DEFENSE!
You NEED a multi-layered approach these days. One is NOT ENOUGH!
