Apache Log Rotation..!!
Hi,
I have configured Apache web server for a heavy load intranet application. I have access_log and error_log. These logs are growing like hell..!! I want to manage these logs in a very efficient manner. I have collected information about the log rotation methods in Apache such as rotatelogs - Piped logging, cronolog etc.. But now i'm confused fully. I can't identify a right and easy log rotation method for my environment. I don't want any complex method or any third party utility for this. Please help me for log rotation in a efficient manner with minimum effort.
In fact, I have configured rotatelogs - Piped logging in my test bed and I have rotated logs based on specific time. The log files are getting generated based on the time interval. But I found that the original log file say access_log is still having all the lines, even though it is created in a new file with time stamp.
Expecting a good quick response.
Thanks,
Siva
