Apache 2, set the default document

Asked by billyboy71 in Apache Web Server

Hi ,

I am on Ubuntu 8.04 and I have installed Apache 2.  I have successfully pointed it towards the my web directory , but since my web directory has a document called search.html,  I want to set the default page to "search.html", but I can't find anyware in the VIRTUAL HOST  directives or other directives that mention about setting the default document and turning off directory browsing.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
