Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting

Asked by jecks in Apache Web Server, Networking Security Vulnerabilities

I recently started to get this error message:

Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting

No any websites can be displayed after this error message comes up.

Restarting Apache service helps for a while.

I searched Google and the only thing I could find is - Your server is being attacked by a botnet ( what is botnet?? )

So I have installed mod_security, but the issue is still coming up every day.

ThreadsPerChild is set to 250
