Looking for a good open source and flexable blogger application.

I am looking for a great open-source and flexible blogger application for my website.

It should support:
- Go Daddy on Linux implementation
- Apache server (on Linux) --- this is a separate application not related to Go Daddy
- Support RSS and other new protocols

I have used and am pretty familiar with WordPress (http://wordpress.com/) but that was about 2 years ago and there were a few annoying problems with it back then. I am sure it has improved much since then. As a bonus, I also know that WordPress is compatible with Go Daddy (http://abeautifulwww.com/2007/02/28/installing-wordpress-on-godaddy/).

However, what else should I consider if I plan to create a (hopefully) high volume blogging site with multiple blogs?
