cfpop allows you to read mail, but it itself is not a mail server.
cfmail allows you to send mail to through any mail server.
cfpop allows you to read mail from a mail server.
ColdFusion does not come with any mail server software.
but it does allow you to connect with an existing one and send/to from messages.
Maybe you can try the crazy cab application to retreive mail.

cfmx allows you to send thru a mail server, but it itself is not a mail server.
Where did you hear the ColdFusion has or was a mail server?
