CFML from MSSQL

Reader;

My website is one page that is essentially a template and each link throughout the site specifies an ID number which corresponds to the ID number of a page on MSSQL. When the page reloads the requested information is pulled and the viewer thinks their on a different page, but they are just viewing different content on the same page.

My question: I'm trying to retrieve CFML from MSSQL, but the compiler must not be processing the CFML becuase it drops the tags and displays the code plainly.

Ex:

<cfparam name="URL.error" default="">
<cfif #URL.error# EQ "accessdenied">
 
You must be a member to access <cfoutput>#URL.pagename#</cfoutput>. 
 
Please <a href="login.cfm">login</a> if you are a member. 
 

</cfif>

When the page loads nothing should be displayed, unless the URL.error = accessdenied. But the page is displaying the text as if the <cfif> were evaluating to True.

This code works appropriately when hard-coded into the page...
