The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Next Language to Learn in addition to Coldfusion?

Asked by sulzener in ColdFusion Application Server, ColdFusion Studio

Tags: , , , ,

I'd like to do some of the same things I've done in Coldfusion for other people, but they are not interested in buying Coldfusion.

For the last 2-3 years I've been writing Coldfusion intranet applications for a company with a SQL server and AS400 backend databases.  I have thouroughly enjoyed it since my prior programming experience has been writing green-screen apps on an AS400.

I'd like to ask those in the Coldfusion community what they recommend that I learn so that I can develop apps that will run on the IIS or other free web servers  (I know IIS is not totally free, but it comes with XP Pro). I'm interested in learning the most popular technology to make me more marketable.  A few years ago I went through some ASP training, but it seems that has been replaced with .NET.  I also admit, I'm confused about .NET and which platform to learn.  It seems to me that Microsoft keeps changing the names of stuff.

I'm also thinking of starting my 12-year old son into some begiinning web application development tool.  I'm thinking we could learn something new together.
This group has helped me tremendously over the last few years.  I appreciate all of you that are so willing to help us average guys out there.  Any input is appreciative.  Thanks again, sulzenerStart Free Trial
