Toggle - delete undelete function needed coldfusion 8

I am trying  to write a delete/undelete toggle  function in cf 8. I want to use an CF AJAX function.

I can write using cfmenu and cfif a delete function, but once the delete function completes I want the text on the delete button to change to undelete, and an undelete function to be called.

Any pointers?
