ultimately this is what i did
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have an application that populates different types of pdf files. and I am using Ben Fortas <cf_pdfform> custom tag to populate the form fields in the pdf.
so i have 3 cfm pages to serve up the pdf based on the type of pdf it is
for example pdf A would use
serve_pdf_A.cfm
pdf B would use
serve_pdf_B.cfm
etc...
This is required because the different pdf files have different form fields and different calulations based on the type of pdf.
I have this at the end of the cfm files used to serve up the pdfs
<CFHEADER NAME="Content-Disposition"
<cfcontent file="#pdfResult#"
type="application/pdf"
reset="yes"
deletefile="yes">
pdfResult is the full path to the pdffile that is created using the cf_pdfform tag.
in IE7 the code works great. You click the link and a dialog comes up asking if you want to save open or cancel the pdf
in ie6 a dialog comes up asing you to open save or cancel the cfm file
and when you click open another dialog comes up asking to save or cancel the same cfm file
if you save the file to your desktop you can open it using acrobat, but I want it to work as it does in IE 7 where the user sees the actual name of the pdf file to open and not the cfm file and clicking the open button actually launches acrobat to open the file
Thanks
