coldfusion gmail smtp could not connect time out

We are running ColdFusion 8 on Windows Server 2003 Standard.  We have our ColdFusion server using smtp.gmail.com to send outgoing emails.  This was working fine for months, until two days ago.  It stopped working, and we cannot figure out why.  We changed nothing.  This is the ColdFusion error that we get:

This exception was caused by: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.gmail.com, port: 465; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect.

Both done, still no luck.  Also, we just did a hard reboot on the Windows server... nothing changed.

I take that back... the reboot seems to have fixed the problem.  Thanks for the quick response.

check the you server firewall make sure is not blocking.
Also check if the box required ssl is checked
