Browse All TopicsThis may be easy, but I am having trouble getting a batch file to run from an intranet page. I want a network user to be able to go to a website (internal) and click on a link that opens a batch file (located in same directory as page) that will run on the local PC. Seems easy enough, but when I click on the link, I get:
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Obviously, the file is there - obviously, something is not configured right to allow access. What needs to be set to allow the file to run?
Windows2003 Server, IIS6, IE6 (client)
page: default.asp

You need to add a Mime Type for that file so it can be downloaded or run. If you want it to work as it did with IIS 5 then add a Mime Type for .bat with "application/octet-stream"
