thank you very much for your response.. I just wanted to make sure i was doing the right thing. Out of all the research i have done i think it's my only solution. You see here's the problem in 5 days we are standing up a tier 2 WSUS server..it's across a WAN connection.. that means when it replicates 24 gigs of data will try to pass down the wire.. and i don't want that.. so i want to clean everything up before then, resync and hopefully knock down all of the non english patches.
If no one else responds to this by tomorrow morning with a better response then i will give you credit for this solution. Thanks alot!

I think thats a proper way to go if you really want to get rid of the unneeded content. I think MS has to do something in the future, hopefully with WSUS 3.0, so that one can clean up those contents easier.
Other people say, what about 24 gig, as we have 500 gig hard drives nowadays. They are also right somehow.
Nevertheless I think your plan should be the best approach to free the disk space and get rid of the updates.
