Once you export the certificate it will still remain on the Server A and thus during the propagation you will be okay.
You can only do this if you marked it exportable when you first installed it.
It is very easy to move the certificate in practice. Just remember to set the https port in IIS once you have imported the cert onto Server B! I advise this from experience.

you need to export the cert from the windows certificates snap-in. you'll need to export it with the private key attached to it, and export the full chain (if it is a tier 2 cert). this will just make your life alot easier.
If you dont still have the private key you should create a new CSR and ask your CA to update your new cert based on that CSR.
