SBS 2003 R2 companyweb not working at all!
Hi there,
I have just installed SBS 2003 R2 and run all the wizards, Exchange - local & remote - is working fine. However companyweb and sharepoint central admin are not working at all, even when I try to browse from IIS! Help!

If you can not even view central admin site, did you receive any error message when you ran the wizard? Check the Central Admin Application Pool Identity tab in IIS and find out which account it is using to access the database.
You may use an account in application pool which does not have rights to open database. However, if you are using different account while trying to open central admin other than the one you used for installation, use it to check.
Thanks.

Hi there,
I ran the wizard a couple of times with no error. I checked the access account and it is running with admin rights, how can i check if the database exists and is working?

Do the web sites exist in IIS Manager > Servername > Web Sites ?
You should have FOUR sites there by default. Please see my blog post here and confirm if you see the same thing:

Hi there,
Yes, I have all of these web sites present, and the companyweb IP address is correct. I have actually followed the MS techdoc which outlined the removal and re-installation of company web to no avail. I have run the internet connection wizard a few times as well. Is there anything else that I could tell you about the config which would be useful?

OK, first thing that helped.
I went into IIS-->Web Service Extensions and Allowed ASP 2.0 which was prohibited. Then went to the companyweb properties page in the IIS manager and clicked on the ASP.NET tab, changed the version to 1.1.4322 and it is away! Apparently company web won't work under ASP 2.0...

OK, to conclude. After changing companyweb ASP settings to 1.1, I also had to create a separate application pool for companyweb, now everything works fine! Admins please close.
You shouldn't have to create a separate application pool for companyweb. Normally, companyweb is configured as the "root" application in the Default Application Pool. If you've created a separate app pool, then things will probably not work as expected in the long run.

Look in services that sharepoint is running and restart iisadmin.
Go to Server management, advanced, IIS och check that the web/webs are running.
Try to access intranet by program/administrativ tools/Sharepoint Central administration.
Let me know what happends.
