How to recycle the Application Pool in IIS for a WebSite?

Asked by sid007i in Microsoft IIS Web Server

I'm new to Windows System Administration and this is my first post and possibly a silly question because I know the answer is easy. So easy, that google does not have the solution posted :) It's kinda like, how do I reboot my PC .. how to do an IIS reset =)

k, I heard a co-worker talk about restarting the application pool for a particular website which was dying and looking in IIS I can't seem to find it.

Am I shutting down / starting a site? Changing framework from DefaultAppPool to 1.1 and back? Killing all the worker processes? It just not clear though I am aware of VB scripts that will do it.

I'm just not sure how to do it in IIS and search has revealed nothing on this tid-bit how to. ;) Start Free Trial
