IIS hacked default.html and index.html by the Fatal Error Crew

Asked by scangroup in Microsoft IIS Web Server

Tags: html, all

ISS running on windows 2003

We have several web sites that became compromised earlier today (or sooner).
The hacker was able to replace our default.html and or index.html pages with theirs....
THe page we saw instead was tilted "Fatal Error Crew" and showed kermit the frog having his way with a stuffed animal.... not the type of thing you want on a client site. We have already recovered by restoring from backup, but how do we prevent this in the future.Start Free Trial
