Make my intranet available outside?

I have a intranet I've built for my company.  I'd like to be able to, through IIS I suppose make it available to the internet so my users don't have to vpn in to access it.  How is this done?  I'm very familiar with IIS so if anybody knows of any handy guide or standard procedures I'd greatly appreciate it.  It's not sharepoint fyi.

if this isn't sharepoint, why have you assigned the MS Sharepoint zone ?

Hi

to access your website from out side,

some one will have to typ

http://your-public-ip//

so it will serve the page from your server

but for that, you need to open port 80 from your firewall and have to forward all the request from port 80  to your IIS server
thats should done the job

+ you have to configure this ip (or better a domain name like http://intranet.yourdomain.com) in alternative mappings in central administration (operations tab) as an internet path + add this host header in IIS settings for application.

it's in the sharepoint zone because the methods of making it available outside are similar.

For Testing Purpose

  • Extended Your web application First. 
  • Do settings in firewall to access your ip address from out side. 
  • Access the site with ip address. and check is it coming or not ...

That is ur companies person issue. Some of the experts spend there time to answer your question. Experts guidelines had given some idea on how to do this perticular operation.
