At some point over the weekend, IIS7 stopped working. All of the Application Pools, and all of the sites are reporting "Access Denied". I know that it's likely a permissions issue, however I'm lost as to WHICH permissions.
Since the machine was last known to be working, I performed a manual uninstall of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11. Following the steps on Symantec's site. Also noteworthy, the username of the original account for the machine has been changed. Username change was done a few weeks ago, with no immediate adverse effects.
Some of my research has pointed me to look at DCOM settings. However, when in Component Services snap-in, the Component Services\Computers\My Computer\DCOM Config is entirely empty. As such, I am unable to attempt solutions that recommend changing DCOM settings.
I think I've included all relevant information, but if I missed anything, please feel free to ask. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

bvflorin: I have not used your link yet. I will do so next.
wolfman007: Thanks for the link. That IS the error I get, but I found that site while searching before my post, and it is not the root cause.
UPDATE TO PROBLEM: Found out this morning that the problem has expanded. RDP was no longer working, even after reboot, so I had to make the 3 hour drive out to the server location. It seems that in addition to the aformentioned IIS issues the following new ones have crept up overnight
- now RDP is not functioning
- When you log in as an administrator, and the SBS Console loads up, it immediately crashes
- SOME MMC consoles crash (notably Computer Manager) - Some still work (like Services)
- MS Exchange Anti-Spam Update is spewing Errors - Everytime it loads, it crashes with the following 2 errors:
- Service Control Manager Event 7031 "The MS Exchange Anti-spam Update service terminated unexpectedly. (Was restarting, I stopped that)
- MS Exchange Common Event 4999 "Watson report about to be sent to dw20.exe for process id: 5292, with parameters: E12, c-RTL-AMD64, 80.01.0375.001, M.E.AntispamUpdateSvc, M.E.AntispamUpdateSvc, M.E.A.HygieneUpdate.SetMic
- After another reboot, I'm getting all kinds of services reporting errors of being out of memory.
when I goto the network tray, it tells me there isn't enough memory to complete the operation (of displaying connection info)
- TaskManager is reporting the following memory usage:
Physical Memory (MB) - Total 8186 Cached 783 Free 6016
Kernel Memory (MB) - Total 236 Paged 147 Nonpaged 88
System - Handles 30066 Threads 1055 Processes 71 Page File 2700M/16423M
Will attempt to follow bvflorin's link/guide now.
