I did a full search of the C: drive for SEPM_INST.log and I came up with nothing.

Browse All TopicsWe had Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager installed on our SBS server but it was working very well, so we decided to do a fresh install. We reinstalled the software but it acting really buggy. So, we decided to install it on our terminal server because the less stuff on our PDC the better. I started the install and it said I have to have IIS installed. So I installed IIS and resumed the Symantec install. It was installing and it go to the part where it configures IIS and then it failed and rolled everything back. I'm sure the problem is with IIS. I checked the IIS configuration and it said it couldn't start the default website because it was being used by another program. I'm assuming that's because we have IIS installed on our PDC and it is hosting a site on port 80. Any ideas? I feel that the IIS problem might be linked to us hosting IIS on our PDC.

I don't know if this will help you but someone told me to check what happens when I go to local host in a browser, but when I did it kicked me to my firewall, and then it instantly kicked to a site with this error.

Have you alread got TomCat installed on the server?
Did you choose the Symantec Web Server when you installed?
OK sorry for wasting your time but I was going throught stuff at the same time on spicworks. Turns out I had installed some network monitoring software before and forgot about it, I uninstalled it and the SEPM went through fine. It all came down to opening a browser and checking the local host, when it booted me to the network program I knew something was up. Thanks for your help tho.
