Hello,
that should be right. In http destination IP you should put 192.168.1.125.
And http source network it needs to be empty.

Try to configure it as in the screenshot - then try to open cmd and put this command:

telnet 192.168.1.125 80

and

telnet 192.168.x.y 80

and thell me the output

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:27:34ID: 25267792

212.35.x.y
92.168.1.1
92.168.1.125
all preduce an empty screen
After a minute the black empty screen fills with:

HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request
Content-Type: text/html
Server: httpd
Date: Sun, 06 Sep 2009 00:25:02 GMT
Connection: close
Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate
Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0
Pragma: no-cache

<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>400 Bad Request</TITLE></HEAD>
                                                 <BODY BGCOLOR="#cc9999"><H4>400
 Bad Request</H4>
                 No request found.
                                  </BODY></HTML>

Connection to host lost.

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:31:01ID: 25267804

so if there is an empty screen it means that from the IP 212.35.x.y it is possible to retrieve the http server on the port 80.
So it is working.... oooor...
maybe you have enabled the remote managing of the dd-wrt router on the port 80, in that case the "empty screen" is the http response of the http server inside the dd-wrt router...

pleas, make sure that the remote management of the router is disabled... then it seems to be working the web site...

where is it ? I cannot found it !!

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:42:09ID: 25267845

it seems that this hotspot function is there to redirect internal http requests to a proxy for traffic filtering...
and the source network is the address of the network from which the traffic should be filtered - sent to the proxy

So my idea is this:
I have DD-WRT v23 SP2 09/15/06 (old but good)

go to:
-Applications and Gaming
-Port Forwarding
application=http; port from=80; protocol=tcp; IP Address=192.168.1.125,port to=80;enable=yes
click to "add"

and try now...

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:44:51ID: 25267854

the remote management is found on:
Administration
Management

and it-s called Remote Access - Web GUI management

and it should be disabled

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:50:58ID: 25267875

Yes, I can see it. and it is disabled already.
> application=http; port from=80; protocol=tcp; IP Address=192.168.1.125,port to=80;enable=yes
did not work :(

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:57:38ID: 25267889

please use port forwarding as I wrote before

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 14:59:40ID: 25267898

we did, and it is not working :)

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:03:20ID: 25267909

Please be informed: I trying to access it from a computer within a network

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:05:26ID: 25267916

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:06:44ID: 25267926

yes, but you want to publish it in the internet... and it needs to be tested by the internet.
it may be possible that from the internet is already working.

as you already said, within the network it is working using the private ip address.

it is also possible that when you try to go to the public ip from the internal network, the router is not redirecting you back to the internal network...

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:09:16ID: 25267937

please, disable the http hotspot, and leave only the port redirecting

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:10:54ID: 25267942

I did

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:19:38ID: 25267979

I am using like this at home... and it works...
If you configured it as I told you it should work fine... port forwarding is what you need...

and you can read the same here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Port_Forwarding

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:20:43ID: 25267985

I found this for you:
http://www.connectedhome.infopint.com/setting-personal-home-webserver/

the same that I told you

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:25:42ID: 25268000

So where is the problem, I did whay you said exactly !!!

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:30:17ID: 25268020

I know my IP address right now is 192.168.1.125
should I assign it a static IP address ?
Also my ISP gave me a dynamic IP address, so when I restart the router my IP is reassigned.

Am I saying anything useful ?

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:34:30ID: 25268042

Also, I am running vista ultimate and IIS 7, SQL Server 2008 express

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:35:57ID: 25268047

Maybe there is something between the router and the computer where the http is running.
Maybe there is some setting in the router that is not allowing the port exchange.
Maybe the port 80 is blocked by default by your service provider because they do not want you to run web sites internally.
Maybe there is some other setting to change on the http server.
What I would do...

I would check the options of this http server... if I don't find anything bad I would try to use another web server, some freeware, and also here I would check each setting!

Then if it has not been resolved I would try to connect this computer directly to the internet, so that the computer will have the 212.35.94.204 ip address, and I would connect from the internet and see if it is working fine.

I would also assign the IP 192.168.1.1 to a computer on the network, no matter what the gateway is, and then try to connect to 192.168.1.125 and see if it works.

But the thing I think is not working is the port forwarding.
I would also try it with emule for example.

You can install  echamblard on the computer where you have the http server. Add two rules to the port forwarding options and you will forward the 2 ports that you can find in the echamblard settings... then disconnect from the servers, and reconnect... you should get a high id...
in this way you can test whether the port forwarding is working.

You can also try to change the port of the http server.. to 1300 for example, and redirect the port 1300 instead of the 80...
then the address would be http://192.168.1.125 :1300 or http://212.35.94.204:1300/dnn/default.aspx

I gave you all my help...I spent a lot of time here trying to give my best...
I cannot explore all your network from here... but I tried to give you the best informations ever....

I have Sharepoint Server & Service installed too, but they are disabled right now. because there is no 2 applications can use the same port number. So I disabled Sharepoint server from IIS

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:37:32ID: 25268051

iis 7????? and DotNetNuke ??
maybe some conflict of ports???

whatever the public ip address is, it should redirect to your internal private static one..

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:42:16ID: 25268074

Static is a must ??
How to make my pc static ip from dd-wrt, I will check

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:43:57ID: 25268081

it is not  amust...
the important is that the ip address of the pc is the same that you have put in the configuration of the router port forwarding..

make sure all the firwalls in vista are allowing the connections

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:47:31ID: 25268090

hmmmmm, windows firewall is disabled by ESET Smart security, and ESET is disabled too, Also I disabled DD-WRT firewall :(
I think it is my provider, it is so restrected here :(
I will call them tomorrow

by: ping_itPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:50:26ID: 25268099

ok, let me know

by: SaedSalmanPosted on 2009-09-05 at 15:51:36ID: 25268104

okay, thank you very much
I appreciate your efforts

you are right, these could be the reason.
