Browse All TopicsWe have a site written in classic ASP that's going to move to a new server running 64 bit Windows 2003. The current platform is 32 bit server 2003, and the current database is 64 bit SQL Server 2005.
The only third-party COM object we're using is the free version of Dimac's JMail, which they claim can be made to work on 64 bit, and which we can do without if necessary.
What pitfalls should I be looking out for during this process? Is there anything special we need to do? Are there any known problems with running ASP Classic on 64 bit Windows?

There is one thing to look out for.
If you are using ODBC drivers for your database connectivity you could run into a situation where the 64 bit configures per spec but the changes are not carried into the 32 bit (I ran into this one myself).
If you find you are having problems with 32bit ODBC database authentication on a 64 bit machine then run the following program ... C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad
