Automate IIS Configuration Backup

Does anyone know of a way to automate the backup of multiple IIS 6 servers running Server 2003, 32 bit.  Or even a third party application?

Hi,

I suppose you are talking about IIS configuration backup and not content backup?  Just make sure that you include \WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml in your backup regime - it wouldn't hurt to backup the entire directory.

Sorry, I was in a big hurry yesterday.  Yes, I need to backup the configurations not the content.

sure - all system configuration is stored in metabase.xml, with some application and site specific application config in web.config files of the individual web sites.

Back up web.configs with the web site content, and back up metabase.xml and you should have a restorable backup.
