Changing App Pool password require IIS Reset in IIS6?

When changing the password on an app pool identity in IIS 6, is an IIS reset required, or just recycling the app pool?

That's a good question! ;-)

I would expect that you will need to reload the application pool - maybe just a recycle will do.

If you try it and find out, I'd be interested to hear the outcome :)

You have to reset IIS.

No, I simply know this from experience or related articles like Sharepoint discussing resetting application pool identities.  It's the same for a service.  A new password isn't active until you restart the service.
