I am working to stand up a new environment that will be for a SaaS product. The product will require several web servers per customer. If customers are logging into an application that doesn’t require AD authentication against our domain do we need the External Connector Licenses?<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Also if we do need the EC licenses, we were researching the windows 2008 web edition licenses. This should allow us to bypass the EC correct? If we’re doing this in a VM environment can I legally install web edition if the VM server is licensed for Windows Datacenter Edition Licensing?<br />

Microsoft External Connector? Is it neccessary?

IIS is Internet Information Services, the web server included with Windows Server operating systems. All current versions are built on a modular architecture; modules can be added or removed individually so that those required for specific functionality are installed. The full installation of IIS includes HTTP, security, content, compression, caching, logging and diagnostics.
