In a way, yes.  It's fairly simple to setup a keystroke logger or even sniff traffic in order to gain passwords to most email systems.

Hi Tim, I know about keystroke loggers or sniffers but I've heard that Microsoft's NET Passoprt writes hotmail's password into registry, if thats true were, in registry, should I look for it? I know its coded with very simply but in wich key?

Your Hotmail password (assuming you selected 'Save Password' is stored in an encrypted form at the following key:

'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MessengerService'

under

'Password.NET Messenger Service'

I also suspect that the values under the key

'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\MachineKeys\' is involved in the encryption/decryption process

If I am not mistaken you, need to install FP2000 in Personal web server, IIS4 or IIS5. Lower versions do not support it.

So, you'll need an NT4 or Windows 2000 Server/Pro or win95 or 98 machine to install it.

You most pressingly need to get version 4.0 or later of IIS, if not for any other reason for security. I have some friends who claim to have gotten FP Server Extensions 2000 running on II 2/3 but I do not recommend it.

About the error you are recieving, its not really a big deal. It simply means that you have created a frontpage web on the disk of a computer without FPSE installed, and so when FPSE tried to extend to the virtual server, it sees disk based extensions already in place.

An easy fix to this is to uninstall and reinstall IIS (hopefully 4.0 or later) and then let the default website point to the normal \inetpub\wwwroot directory. FIRST install the server extensions, and then open up your disk based web, which should NOT be in \inetpub\wwwroot at this point, and from the FILE menu in FrontPage choose Publish Web, and publish it to your new webserver by specifying the publishing location as http://localhost or whatever. This will take the disk based extensions of the existing web and convert them to true FP server extensions, and you should have no problems from there on out. This will in essence 'copy' your web from its original location to \inetpub\wwwroot and will work fine!
