Browse All TopicsI am running a website on a Windows 2003 SP1 machine with IIS 6.0. Anyone from within our network, or outside who uses http://site_name.org can access the site with no problem. However, if a user enters www.site_name.org they get a 403 forbidden error. Can anyone tell me what I may have configured incorrectly in IIS to cause this problem? I have verified internal and external DNS to ensure that both addressess point to the correct IP, so I don't believe DNS is my problem.

Hello,
Are you sure you have www.site_name.org in the Host Header Info? You can verify this by opening IIS Manager then right-clicking on the Web Site and selecting Properties. From the Web Site tab, click on Advanced next to the IP address field. If it isn't in there, Add New to the list and make the settings the same as the one that works but with the "www."
