.htaccess redirection in subfolders

Presently I have an .htaccess file in my /public_html that reroutes domain.com traffic to www.domain.com.  My question is, how can I do the same thing for instances where someone visits domain.com/folder.  How can I make them redirect to www.domain.com/folder
