Several ports (8005,8080,8009) required by Tomcat v5.5 Server at localhost are already in use

Every time when starting server.... its giving the following message..

(---Several ports (8005,8080,8009) required by tomcat v5.5 server at localhost are already in use. the server may already be running in another process, or system process may be using the port. to start this server you will need to stop the other process or change the port number.-----)

Have you tried changing the ports in the server.xml file?

I haven't tried. What port shoud I change it to ?

I'm pretty sure you can change it to whatever you want.  I think the guy who i used to work with changed it to 8181, 8443, & 8192.  Not sure exactly why but he seemed to have a reason.

Same error message...but does not list 8005 as I changed it to 8181.

also, are you entering in the port number when going to the address?

for example:  http://localhost:xxxx  with xxxx being whatever port # you specified in the xml file
