How to redirect computer name to a specific port

I have set up a web server (IIS) on Windows 2008, using a new site. It is not a default site, but assigned to port 88.  Anyone can bring up the web page by typing in servername:88 in the web browser.  I am using Windows Active Directory with integrated DNS.

Can anyone tell me how to set up port redirection or DNS entry to redirect from servername:88 to HELPDESK?  There are no internet access involved.

This is not just DNS, you have make sure the name servername and helpdesk are pointing to the IIS server (assuming you have just one IIS, you have two, point them to the according ones).
After that you need to configure the IIS to redirect a page (http://servername:88/ that will be listening on port 88 on IIS) to another URL (http://helpdesk/)
