A program called aid4mail is also a good solution, I just happened to find out about it. It converts maildir and mbox among other formats to pst.

Browse All TopicsI have the backup of five squirrelmail user accounts. I switched hosting and was told by the original hosting company that all I had to do was backup the entire folder and then I could upload the mail folder to the new hosting company. Unfortunately the new company did not support squirrel mail and they could not help me gain access to users address books and emails. What kind of database is the squirrelmail kept and is there any type of program like mailnavigator that will provide access?
Additional information: I believe the hosting company used The Courier IMAP server with Exim.
Thanks!!

Hi,
The squirrelmail is the only web interface it will work with the mail server like Exim . You have to contact to your old hosting provider and ask them for the mail server.
You have following solution to take the backup...
1. Download in to outlook or mail clients.
2. Ask to your current hosting company about the pop retrieval option .
This option will get mails from the any remote mail server to existing server.
Regards,
sam
