Trying to play wmv files in Internet Explorer and not Windows Media Player

I have wmv files on my webserver that will open an Internet Explorer window and play the video on my XP laptop, which is what I want to happen on all computers.  I have tried to play the videos on other computers and Windows Media Player opens, rather than an Internet Explorer window.  When Windows Media Palyer opens I get an error message.  On XP machines, it says that it encountered an error when connecting to the server and that the security information from the erver could not be validated.  On Windows 7 PCs it says that there is a codec error.  Both XP PCs and Windows 7 PCs will play the video after clicking "Close' on the error message and then clicking Play.  The website that contains the videos is a secure site.  I have noticed that IE 9 and IE 10 will ask whether I want to Save or Open the file.  I do not want anyone to be able to save the file, so if it will automatically play in an IE window, like on my laptop, then they cannot save the video files.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Bosaloski,

The better solution is to create a Streaming Server, either on Windows or on Linux based.

I have looked into a streaming server and based on the information from the Microsoft website I would need another server (1 for webserver and 1 for streaming services).  It would also allow the users to view the video directly in Windows Media Player.  If the users are viewing the video file in Windows Media Player, then they can save the fiel to their computer and I do not want the users to be able to save any of the video files.
Hi Bosaloski,

We can't stop users to save any online available video, even facebook / youtube videos get downloaded by users but with default windows streaming service or you can start thinking something like;

https://www.google.com.pk/search?q=opensource+streaming+server&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-beta&gws_rd=cr&ei=SDZpUoXrEZSShQeZoIHACA
I appreciate the suggestion, but the user can save the file when using the streaming media server.  How can I get the video to automatically play in Internet Explorer like it does on my laptop?  My laptop does not open up Windows Media Player, but opens an Internet Explorer window and then plays Windows Media Player in the IE window.  I would like all PCs to only play within an IE window.
No one was able to assist me with my question.
