java filemanager java.security.cert.CertificateException

Asked by tlkhorses in Linux, Sun Java System Web Server, Java Standard Edition

Tags: webmin, java, filemanager

I keep running into this and really need to find a way to fix it. Has become quite irritating and I haven't found a solution other than getting a signed cert which I don't want to do for an internally used server.

I am using CentOS latest with webmin latest. Using filemanager after about a day I start getting the  following:
Failed to get Language list: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException : java.security.cert.CertificateException: Java couldn't trust Server

I have a self signed cert on this box and it is a fresh install so everything on it is good. It appears there is some issue using self signed certs or at least that is what I often see on google searches. After about three days of that, it will work again for about a day.

Anyone have a fix for this? Browser doesn't matter. I am using a mac osx with safari or firefox but once it appears on one browser it is that way on the other.
