I'm still having an issue creating a protection group within Microsoft Data Protection Manager 2007. The error that comes up, this item cannot be protected because some prerequisite software is missing. Ensure that all prerequisite software is installed and then protect this item (ID: 31008). Click help to view the list of prerequisite software for the selected item.
Installed DPM on Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 32-bit, got a mirrored OS Partition and a Raid 6 for my (Data-Backup) parition. This server is a standalone server only doing backups, a requirement by Microsoft when installing DPM, it's a part of a Active Directory Domain, using SQL Express which was installed with DPM, and all the Windows Updates on there including the hotfix thats recommended with this issue whne i google it. I have hotfix #KB940349-v3 on there which is supposed to be installed to fix this issue although it doesn't. I've refereshed the information on all the Agents by going to Management and clicking Referesh Information, still after waiting for a long period of time it still doesn't allow me to create a protection group. I can see the servers and i can install the Agents, but still looks like i need something else to install in order to fix this.
Any suggestions on what could be the issue
