Deleting Files in a Very Large RAR File (60GB)

I have a problem with an external hard drive (160gb). It has a .rar file with 60gb of files in it and I'm trying to delete some of the files in it to make more room. The problem is that I think WinRAR has to create a backup file of the .rar file to work with when deleting files. It would have to create another 60gb backup file and the drive doesn't have anymore room to do that because the drive really is 147gb and I have 30gb of other files in the drive besides the 60gb .rar file. Is there anything I can do to delete the files in the .rar file to make room without having to get another hard drive? Thank youStart Free Trial
