MX6920 - red light flashes 4 times

Gateway MX6920
Battery is dead - currently won't charge.
When attempt to power on - red light flashes 4 times & nothing
Replaced AC adapter - no change
Bought a replacement motherboard - red light flashes 4 times & nothing
One by one removed - Optical drive, hard drive, wireless card, modem, ram - no change.

Anybody have any more ideas?
