Hi
I have a customer who purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-N21M/W laptop. They decided they didn't want to have Windows Vista on it and brought it in to us to format the drive and install Windows XP Pro.
I have now done this, but I'm having a problems finding a couple of the drivers for it, they aren't on the sony site and I cant get model details for the bits of hardware anywhere.
The ones missing are as follows:
Ethernet Controller (Wired)
Ethernet Controller (Wireless)
Mass Storage Controller
PCI Device
If anybody could help with finding these drivers it would be great, thanks.

It looks like you are missing the Chipset Drivers. After reading Sony's site you can contact them, they will help you find the drivers you need.

the best site i have seen was http://driveragent.com as a computer tech, i found this site invaluable. IT cost 29.95 a year but it will scan your computer and tell you what drivers are needed and gives you a link to the driver you have a choice of getting from the vendor site or from a mirror. IT works great and i don't have to do anythign but pay the 29.95 a year to get the access to the site, well worth the effort, since now i don't have to spend time searching the net for drivers adn it is located in one spot

I have managed to get all the drivers apart from one. The PCI device.
Using the information here I have found that this device is "82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio"
Which I believe is an Intel drive.
I cannot find a download for it anywhere though, I have found some bits, but none have worked.

Try this:
To identify drivers for your pc do the following:
Start-Programs-Accessories
both four digits long.
Look up those numbers here:
http://www.pcidatabase.com
This will tell you the manufacturer and the chip number. First port of call is the manufacturer's website. If no joy there, try a driver database like Driverguide:
