Browse All TopicsUnder Device Manager there is a device called SM Bus Controller under Other devices. It is currently disabled. Do I need to enable it? Where do I get the driver? I did not see this device until I replaced the hard drive on the computer a few days ago.

Start-Programs-Accessories
both four digits long.
Look up those numbers here:

This will tell you the manufacturer and the chip number. First port of call is the manufacturer's website. If no joy there, try a driver database like Driverguide:

Yes . . enable it. If it complaines that drivers are not available, remove it and reboot to let windows "discover" it again and load .
If this is on a fresh install, it could indicate that the Chipset drivers were not loaded and you can reinstall them.
