Need drivers for eHome Remote Transceiver

Bought a HP Pavilion M8277c Media Center machine with Vista.  Changed to have dual-boot with XP MCE.  Have had the usual difficulties with drivers, etc.  But one in particular is really puzzling and maddening.  I have the really nifty MCE remote control and transceiver that came with the HP system.  It senses in XP when plugged in but I get the yellow exclamation mark and it doesn't function.  I've searched all over the web and find other people with exactly the same issue, but there are no resolutions.  What gives?  Why is their NO DIRECT software drivers available and why doesn't MS update sight sense it and install correct drivers like every one of the links tells me it will.   arrrggggh!   Any one have similar situation in past that they can help with?  ThanksStart Free Trial
